-Meredith and Deanna

Meredith is a mother of four and a labor and delivery nurse who got the surprise of her life last April when she was diagnosed with triple-negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC). To say she was scared and worried was an understatement as she learned how quickly her tumor was growing. She named her tumor Ted Bundy and committed to killing him by lethal injection.  After 16 rounds of chemotherapy, she had a double mastectomy in October of 2021 that included removing 7 lymph nodes.  The good news is there was no evidence of disease and Meredith had a complete pathological response to the chemotherapy treatments. She continues to grow her hair back and fill up her boobs as she gets ready for the next steps in reconstruction.

Deanna is a mother to 4 fur babies and a labor and delivery nurse who got the surprise of her life standing in the shower in 2018. After finding her lump, she was quickly diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma as it had spread to a lymph node. She named her tumor Voldemort and was determined to be the girl that lived. After undergoing 16 rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy, infection, seroma, and radiation (whew) Deanna has been cancer-free for 3 years.
